A 23-year-old Eaglehawk woman was taken to Bendigo Health for observation following a crash on Jobs Gully Road, Eaglehawk on Thursday night.
Sergeant Geoff Annand of the Bendigo Highway Patrol said the woman was travelling south in a stolen grey-blue Holden Astra at about 8pm when she crashed into the back of a parked car near the intersection of Peninsula Drive.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash but Sergeant Annand said the woman fled the scene and was found with a small bag of cannabis and four small bags of methamphetamine a short time later.
“Her car tipped onto the driver’s side where she was trapped for a short time,” he said.
“A passer-by helped her from the car and she then left the scene on foot, she was found hiding in a rear yard a couple of blocks away.”
The woman suffered injuries to her neck and chest but no one else was injured.
The car was also bearing stolen number plates.
Anyone with information should contact the Bendigo Highway Patrol on 5448 1300.
