Kiwi Hawthorn ran in 12 tries as the Miners’ defence was unable to contain their opponent’s backline.
The highlight of the match for the Miners came midway through the first half when centre Ricky Taylor made a break 60 metres out and beat the full-back before being brought down 10 metres from the Kiwi line.
After some recycling of the ball, Bendigo prop Nicki Poingdestre, in his 200th game for the club, celebrated by crashing over from close range for the Miners first points.
The Bendigo forwards worked hard in the second half and that resulted in tries to Johneen Fagavao and Blake Theunissen. The Miners better players were Theunissen, Phil Keech, David McDonald and Ale Liliva.
