Big margins were again the order of the day in round three of the under-16 grading games.
Five of the nine games were decided by 75 points or more, including North Bendigo’s 227-point hiding of Eaglehawk.
The closest game in the under-16s was the four-point thriller between Maryborough and YCW. The Magpies rallied from a half-time deficit to win 8.2 (50) to 6.10 (46).
Kyneton reserves outlasted Kangaroo Flat reserves by eight points in an entertaining under-14 clash.
Golden Square seniors stamped their class with a 142-point win over Kyneton seniors, while Sandhurst seniors defeated Strathfieldsaye seniors by 79 points.
In the under-12 grading games, White Hills upstaged St Therese’s B by 13 points, with Eli Pearce kicking four of the Demons’ six goals. It was a better day for St Therese’s A, who beat Eaglehawk A by seven goals.
Castlemaine B also scored an upset win. The Magpies proved too good for Strathfieldsaye A, 9.10 (64) to 7.4 (46).
Kyneton A enjoyed a 27-point win over Golden Square A, while the Kyneton C squad defeated Kangaroo Flat C by 16 points.
Meanwhile, four Strathfieldsaye players celebrated 50-game milestones.
Cameron Anderson of the under-12A team, Timothy Johnston of the under-14 reserves 2 team, Sebastian Rodda of the under-16 reserves team and Aisling Tupper of the youth girls team all played their 50th game of junior footy.
