Having last week broken an 18-game winless streak, the Magpies made it two in a row as they defeated the Saints 14.19 (103) to 9.6 (60).
The Magpies gained the momentum during the second quarter when they kicked five goals to one on the back of some slick ball movement to build a 30-point lead.
Aaron Wilson finished with three goals for the Magpies, while Sam Taylor and Jordan Bleicher each kicked two. Keiren Wilson, Jarrod Fitzpatrick and Harry Weaver were the best.
With the defeat, St Arnaud is now 0-3 in its shaky premiership defence.
As he has been in all three games this season, Caleb Bloomer was the best for the Saints, who had Michel Dunn kick three goals.
• Unbeaten Donald maintained its position at the top of the ladder, defeating Wedderburn by 65 points.
The Royals won all four quarters in notching a 20.13 (133) to 10.8 (68) win, which was spearheaded by 11 goals between Seamus Young (six) and Jonathon Neville (five).
Young and Neville were both named among the Royals’ best players. Nicholas Garner and Ross Young were others to impress.
Wedderburn coach Danny Benaim and Adam Postle (three) combined to kick seven of the Redbacks’ 10 goals.
Ben DeAraugo, Benaim (four goals) and Robert Tonkin were all solid contributors for the Redbacks.
• Eight goals from Joe McGrath helped Charlton to a 33-point triumph over Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers.
The Navy Blues held the Tigers to just one goal in the first half as they set up their 13.13 (91) to 8.10 (58) win at home.
The Navy Blues’ better players featured McGrath, Luke Kyriakides and Sam O’Connor, while the Tigers were well served by co-coach Matt Elliott, Billy McInnes and Simon Weekley (two goals).
• An accurate Wycheproof-Narraport got the jump on Birchip-Watchem in its win to stay unbeaten.
The Demons won by 51 points, despite having just one more scoring shot in prevailing 20.5 (125) to 10.14 (74) after earlier racing to a 42-point quarter-time lead.
Ricky Allan kicked seven goals and Corey Jones snagged five for the Demons, while ruckman Lochlan Sirett battled hard for the beaten Bulls to be their standout player.
