The Grasshoppers stretched their unbeaten record to 5-0 with a 56-44 win at Colbinabbin.
Coach Liz Cobbledick said she was pleased to come away with a win against a quality opponent.
"I knew it would be a tough game and not knowing the North line-up was a little daunting," she said.
"We had to go in focused on what we could do and our game.
"That paid off - the girls came out really focused."
The Grasshoppers were able to establish an eight goal lead at half time and withstood a spirited fightback by the Bulldogs in the third quarter.
"It was good that we were able to compose again and stop their momentum," Cobbledick said.
Other pleasing factors for Cobbledick included the accuracy of the Grasshoppers' goalers, who shot at 77 per cent accuracy, and the performance of a pair of A-reserve players Hannah Fuller and Meg Bennett, who slotted in well to the A-grade line-up.
“Hannah had played a full game in A-reserve and came on and played exceptionally well in wing defence,” she said.
“I was very impressed they both took their opportunity to play some senior netball and took the game on and did really well.
“It’s great that we have that depth and can keep developing those types of players. I am sure there will be more opportunities to get them up into A-grade throughout the year.”
The Grasshoppers were without recruit Bridey Lawford, who is in the middle of moving from Sydney
White Hills is the only other team with an undefeated record after beating Heathcote 75-25.
The Demons led at every change, running out convincing winners.
Lockington Bamawm United scored its second win of the season, defeating Elmore 51-30.
It does not get any easier for the Bloods who will front up against White Hills next week.
The Cats will play North Bendigo.
Leitchville-Gunbower moved into the four with a big win against Mount Pleasant.
The Bombers won 60-24 and will this week play fifth-placed Huntly at Leitchville.
