Goodman takes over the role vacated by Lukas Carey.
Goodman’s appointment by the Bendigo Basketball Association fits with president Mark Lennox’s view that there should be closer ties between the Spirit and the Lady Braves.
Goodman has already begun talking to a number of the Lady Braves players involved with the Spirit about re-signing with the SEABL club, Lennox said.
Spirit players Renae Camino, Madeleine Garrick, Jane Chalmers and Ebony Antonio played for the Lady Braves this season, while Gabe Richards could also be in line to return under the new coach.
Lennox said Spirit veteran Kristi Harrower may work under Goodman as an assistant at the Lady Braves.
Goodman will also take on the BBA director of coaching role.
More to come.
