In a season capped by another premiership victory and a haul of 164 goals, Weeks polled 190 votes to be No. 1 for the Bulldogs.
The gun full-forward surpassed the league record held by Frank Crapper since 1933.
Weeks passed the target in the Bulldogs’ grand final win against Gisborne.
Highlights in 2012 included Weeks and clubmate Travis Baird representing Victoria at the Australian Country Football Championships. Both earned selection in the All-Stars team.
Runner-up for the blue and gold’s best and fairest award was Simon Rosa on 182 votes. Despite missing four matches because of injury, Rosa’s ability to keep up racking possessions and set up many attacks meant he was right in the race for consecutive club champion awards.
The A-grade netball best and fairest was won by the versatile Jacqueline Dupuy, 20 votes, from Lia Marrone on 18.
A memorable season for Dupuy, a student at Catholic College Bendigo, was representing Northern Territory at the national under-19 netball titles.
Golden Square FNC’s best clubperson award was presented to Ken Bourke and Annie Hogan.
The season wind-up was on Saturday night in the Platinum Room at the Foundry Hotel complex.
A great year for the Bulldogs included the Mark Lloyd-coached seniors beating Gisborne by three points in the battle for the Bendigo Advertiser premiership cup.
The Jamie Hogan-coached under-18s were runner-up, as was the A-reserve netball team. Both were beaten by Sandhurst.
