She’s too busy volunteering.
The Bendigo resident, who is in her 60s, lends a hand to various groups including the Bush Dance and Music Club.
Mrs Pearse was hard at work yesterday serving tea and coffee, with a smile, to participants at the Old Time Tea Dance yesterday.
The event was just one of the many events on this week’s Victorian Seniors Festival.
“I’m a volunteer with the Bush Dance and Music Club so I work as a publicity officer, MC, and I help with super and clean up,” she said.
“I also volunteer with ladies netball, highland dancing and the Holden club – to name a few.
“I also work part-time, as a home carer with the council.”
Mrs Pearse said volunteering was very rewarding. “I like helping people,” she said.
She encouraged others to put their hands up to volunteer.
“I’ve noticed the schools are struggling to get volunteers for their readers and things like that,” she said. “Everyone can help out in some way or another.”
