The grate even comes with a New York street scene backdrop and a sensor-operated wind gust so visitors can strike the same breezy pose as the one captured by Seward Johnson’s eight-metre high Forever Marilyn.
City of Greater Bendigo acting community wellbeing director Pat Jess described the “Marilyn Moment” activity as “a bit of fun” that will attract new visitors.
“We know from past experience that a lot of people caught the train to Bendigo for previous exhibitions and we want to draw them into the mall as they make their way to and from the Bendigo Station and Bendigo Art Gallery,” he said.
The activity will open between 10am and 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Mr Jess urged people to share their photos on social media with the hashtag, #MarilynBendigo.
