Police said a man in a Nissan Patrol was driving erratically along Olympic Parade, reaching speeds of about 105kmh.
Two police units tried to stop the vehicle which veered onto the wrong side of the road on several occasions.
Police abandoned the chase after about 10 minutes because of fears for public safety.
The man, aged in his 50s, is known to police and has not been taken into custody or questioned.
Leading Senior Constable Steve Smith from Inglewood Police said the chase was believed to have followed a domestic incident.
He said police would continue their investigations into the incident throughout the day.
