The company will present The Addams Family musical at Ulumbarra from June 30 to July 3.
But long before then, a production team has been busy designing sets, costumes and plotting special effects.
Mandy Ellison and Vern Wall are co-directing the production and will host an information day on Sunday, March 6, a the BTC Arts Shed in Golden Square.
The information day will give people a chance to learn about the production and decide if they want to audition for a role or be a part of the backstage and production crew.
“We want see people who are keen to either be part of the production team, build sets or take a look at the costume designs,” Ms Ellison said.
She said the production would appeal to a wide range of people.
“It's going to appeal to people like myself that remembers the TV series from the 1960s and 1970s and a whole new audience who will love it because they have seen the later movies,” Ms Ellison said.
“It's a bit quirky and Gothic without being too dark. When (the musical) first came out I was keen to see it.
“I thought it was a great opportunity to do something that is a bit different and in a way that has a bit of modern technology as well.”
Ms Ellison and Mr Wall have been friends for a number of years, which made the decision to share directorial duties easy.
“Vern and I have been friends for a long time,” Ms Ellison said.
“I have done work with BTC in the past but not recently because work has been too demanding.
“But I felt like I needed a creative outlet and when Vern said he was keen to do it, we said well why not do it together and share.”
Ms Ellison said Mr Wall and her were eager to have a number of technical aspects in place before rehearsals started.
“We want to let the cast have a really clear picture (from the outset) because it's not a well known musical for many people,” she said.
“Ken Wells is fabulous with his set designs, and it’s great to have something where people can say 'oh yeah, I can see exactly what you want to do'.
“We are aiming to play with technology this time including things like 3D animations and things that have been used on Broadway.”
