Elmore Field Days president David Trewick said organisers were thrilled with day one.
“The car park is full and, just looking at the lanes, they are pretty solid for a Tuesday.”
Spectators were treated to more than 100 new exhibitors this year with stalls, machinery and livestock set out across the field.
Shearing demonstrations and in-paddock tillage, sowing and boom spraying presentations informed and entertained visitors alike.
New farming technology and the latest in Australian-manufactured machinery were also on display.
Opposition finance spokesman Joe Hockey was on hand to officially open the event.
Mr Hockey said he last visited this area during the floods in 2011 and appreciated the deep sense of community present in the region.
“It was inspiring for me to come down during the floods and see everyone help each other out,” he told the crowds.
“It really embodied the Australian spirit.”
Assistant to the regional commissioner Jenny Coothew said she was astounded by the amount of foot traffic that went past the Australian Securities and Investment Commission stand.
“It’s been so busy. We’ve used half our stock already.
“We’ve been to lots of other field days and nothing has been like this.”
Mr Trewick said the Elmore Events Centre should only get busier in the next two days.
“The weather is good and the exhibitors have gone to a lot of trouble with their sites.”
