The health provider says the funds, raised by way of a competition on local radio, has put the Bendigo Hospital Christmas Appeal a step closer to realising its wish list for 2015.
Number one on that list is a realistic child mannequin used for training emergency department staff in a range of life-saving skills.
Bendigo Health Foundation director Jane Anderson said the mannequin has “programmable scenarios and modules including CPR, advanced cardiac life support, trauma, first aid and child abuse awareness”.
“This is the second year of this generous donation and we are very grateful to Bendigo Stadium to be able to purchase this equipment.
“Our relationship with Bendigo Stadium and the Bendigo Braves has grown from strength to strength.”
Funds were raised through a 3BO competition in which contestants received $10 for a correct answer – a figure then matched through donation to the Bendigo Health Foundation.
