Council currently offers an opt-in green waste service to residents in Kerang and Cohuna, with more than 540 residents requesting the service.
Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said the council would consult with Koondrook residents to determine interest in participating in a trial.
‘‘More than 540 Kerang and Cohuna residents have requested the green waste service so far, which shows how well received the service has been by the community,’’ Cr Learmonth said.
‘‘If there was adequate support, a trial would run for 12 months, after which council would evaluate the long term viability of offering the service on permanent basis.’’
‘‘It’s a great way to reduce your household waste and keep on top of all your garden maintenance.’’
