UPDATE 10.40am: It is believed the fire was deliberately lit.
Principal Frank Dullard said the school would increase security following of a spate of suspicious fires in Eaglehawk during the past week.
He said there was concern among parents and staff.
“It seems like a small fire, which was deliberately lit overnight and is now in the hands of police,’’ he said.
“There was minor damage to a building site but it was kept very clean, so there was only minimal materials to be lit.
“But it’s the intent that we are worried about.
"That’s the concern, as there seems to be a series of incidents happening in Eaglehawk.
“It’s pretty hard and from my perspective I would just like to get this resolved because this is happening within a close knit community.’’
Earlier: POLICE are investigating a fire at St Liborius Catholic Primary School in Eaglehawk overnight.
The latest incident comes after police revealed yesterday they were investigating potential links between six fires in Eaglehawk during the past week.
More to come.
