A squad of 31 represented Bendigo against the winners and runners-up of Shield Zone finals.
The under-14 girls and 40-plus men from Bendigo were in top form.
South Bendigo’s Abbey Hromenko cleared 1.45m to win the under-14 girls high jump and was fourth in the 200m hurdles among a six-discipline program.
Hromenko earned the Flora Hill Bakehouse athlete of the week award.
Another of South Bendigo’s young stars, Taryn Furletti won the under-14 3000m in 11:02.84.
Jalen Hoskin from Bendigo Harriers cleared 10.07m to be fifth in triple jump and leapt 1.40m to be third in the high jump final.
Performances in 40-plus were adjusted, which applied all season in 50-plus, 60-plus, 70-plus and athletes with a disability.
Eaglehawk’s Tim Sullivan gained maxiumum points from 36 rivals in the 40-plus men’s 4000m, 25.77 and adjusted 22.67.
Another of the Borough’s best, Barb Bryant achieved a time of 17:34.47, adjusted to 14:56.29, to gain maximum points in the 40-plus women’s 3000m walk.
Peter Cowell from Bendigo Harriers continued his superb season by being third in the 3000m, 10:02.51 and adjusted to 9:20.33.
Eaglehawk’s Denise Snyder was the number one high jumper in AV Shield and she won the women’s open title with a leap of 1.75m.
Hurdling ace Fraser Symons from Bendigo Harriers won the under-16 200m hurdles, 27.13, and cleared 1.65m to be third in high jump.
At the hammer cage, Liam Campbell from Bendigo Harriers hurled the implement 53.80m to win the under-16 title. Campbell put the shot at 10.80m to be fourth.
Mackenzie Cooper from Bendigo Harriers was runner-up in the under-18 shot put, 13.47m, and fourth in hammer.
