The BFNL will play Gippsland in inter-league this year on Saturday, May 21, with only senior football to be played that day.
It will be the fourth meeting between the two leagues since 2010, but the first of those clashes to be played in Gippsland.
The BFNL has advertised the senior football and open and under-17 netball coaching positions for its representative teams.
Rick Ladson has coached the senior football team for the past two years for a 1-1 record - a 34-point win over Gippsland in 2014 and 77-point hiding from Ballarat last year.
At this stage Ladson is unsure if he will reapply for the job.
“I’ve loved my two years. It’s a unique role and fantastic to build a rapport with the different players who you haven’t had a lot to do with in the past and I couldn’t have been prouder of the boys efforts over the two years,” Ladson said on Wednesday.
“Last year’s result was obviously disappointing, but in terms of the boys who put their hand up, a lot of young guys got exposure to a higher level and hopefully, will come back again this year and have another crack.

“At this stage I’ve just got to weigh up the time commitment as to whether I can put my hand up to do it again.”
This year’s inter-league is being played under the banner of the AFL Victoria Community Championships, with Bendigo to take on Gippsland in the 11 v 12 ranking match.
There will be no under-18 inter-league match because of costs associated with the distance, with the BFNL hopeful of arranging some form of representative game closer to home for its under-18s.
On the netball court, Bendigo won’t be going to Gippsland either. Instead this year’s focus will be on the Netball Victoria Association Championships.
Bendigo will enter both an open and under-17 team in the championships, with those coaching applications open.
Melissa Ryan coached the open team last year, which lost to Ballarat 46-40, while the under-17 coach was Hayley Bolton.
Position descriptions for both the football and netball coaching roles are available from www.bendigofnl.com.au
