Featuring a flying fox, sandpit, large climbing structure and hammocks, the play space at Lake Neangar aims to cater for children aged three to 16.
“It’s planned to offer a different experience to other parks in the city,” City of Greater Bendigo director presentation and assets Darren Fuzzard said.
“We think it will be very popular and will attract not just locals, but people from across the local area.”
The draft concept plans are being exhibited at several locations and the council’s website.
“We’re hopeful people will take the opportunity to make their suggestions to us,” Mr Fuzzard said.
“We’ll then be putting in a development proposal for the 2013-14 financial process.”
The plans also include pathways, landscaping and picnic facilities, with different sections of the playground for different age levels.
Construction of the playground is expected to start next financial year if approved by council.
