The fires, in Wyuna, north-east of Bendigo, are on both the west and eastern sides of the intersection at Finlay Road and Trevaskis Road.
Firefighters are also attending a bushfire in Burnewang, east of Elmore, with four vehicles sent to the scene.
That fire is under control.
EARLIER: Firefighters doused a fire after a barbecue caught aflame in Long Gully on Thursday morning.
Two trucks responded to reports of the fire in Stone Street at about 10.20am, but quickly got the fire under control.
Firefighters also responded to a small fire at about 9.50am on Thursday on the McIvor Highway in Junortoun.
The small fires comes as a Total Fire Ban has been put in place for today, Thursday December 31, for much of the state.
No fires can be lit or remain alight in the open air in the Central and North Central regions, which includes Castlemaine, Harcourt, Maldon, Maryborough, Kyneton, and Daylesford.
The total fire ban is also in place for the Wimmera, South West, West, South Gippsland districts, as well as Melbourne and Geelong.
