The call comes after police arrested a 22-year-old Melbourne man in the early hours of this morning after an alleged burglary at Hume and Iser Home Hardware.
Sergeant Tony Kekich said about $3500 worth of power tools had been stolen from the Bendigo business.
"Police allege he's taken the tools and as soon as he's done that he's taken off in a car and then collided with a car at an intersection and kept going," Sergeant Kekich said.
Help from witnesses led to police finding and arresting the man at a motel.
Police are yet to locate the stolen property.
Anyone with information should contact Bendigo police on 5448 1300.
