Hundreds of concerned residents marched through the streets of Bendigo on Friday, joining thousands of protesters around the world calling for action on climate change in the lead up to this week’s United Nations summit in Paris.

Bendigo Sustainability Group co-founder and Make a Change director Karen Corr said it was time politicians stopped making “bad decisions” on climate change.
“We can all take action on climate change, we can do this on a personal level and also on a community level,” she said.
“This is not about us versus them, there is only one side and it’s called ‘us’ – human beings.”
Catholic College student Maddie Fitzgerald called climate change “an inter-generational issue of justice”.
“On a hot day some people can just turn on the air conditioner, in some places it is a matter of life and death,” she said.
“Climate change is the single biggest challenge to ending poverty in the world, it is one of the greatest injustices.”
