“I’m pregnant and I’ve got a two-year-old inside… I’m stressin’ out,” Nicole Reid said.
It was the third call out SES received in the Bendigo area today to attend to trees downed by the strong winds.
Fortunately for Reid, the damage to her home was minor but she has had to find alternative accommodation until the tree is removed.
SES received the call out to the Wilson Street property at 5.30pm and secured the scene but did not remove the tree.
“Our responsibility is to protect people’s lives,” SES deputy controller Craig Guymer said.
Guymer said the combination of dry weather and strong winds were behind the downed trees.
“The soil has dried out some the trees are coming out more easily,” he said.
