AB teamed with Victoria Masters for an action-packed program at the Latrobe University Bendigo Athletics Complex.
Johnson’s feat in the 100m hurdles was outstanding. The 15-year-old raced to victory in a time of 13.60 seconds, a new Athletics Bendigo Centre and Residential record for the under-16 age group.
Fryer was in hot form at discus. The Hawks’ veteran achieved a mark of 22.51 metres, which broke the Athletics Bendigo Centre record for the 70-plus age group.
Highs at Tuesday’s meet included 100m victories by Lachlan Johnson and Box Hill’s Madeline Lawson, Archie Wallis from Old Scotch in the 800m, and Eaglehawk’s Barb Bryant in the 3000m walk.
A previous winner of the Bendigo Thousand 120m and the Black Opal 400m at the Bendigo International Madison carnival, Glenn Stephens won the first of the 400m heats in 56.65 seconds.
South Bendigo’s stars included Greg Hilson at high jump, Zahra Hayes in the 1500m walk and Ella Farnel at long jump.
Eaglehawk’s David Chisholm showed his versatility with strong performances in the 110m hurdles, 100m and long jump.
Finale to the program was the 3000m in which University’s Richard Gleisner was victorious in 9:38.97 ahead of Adam Parker and Peter Cowell.
