Farmers have welcomed the government’s so-called “regional statement” announced on Tuesday, saying it highlighted key gains for the agricultural sector. “It is great to see the government make a strong commitment to the nine key regions in Victoria,” Victorian Farmers Federation president Peter Tuohey said. “One of the key measures we were seeking through this process was support for farmers seeking to diversify and value-add to their businesses.”
