The Marist Brothers school, originally only to provide secondary education, will be the first in the Sandhurst Diocese to offer prep through to VCE.
Bishop of the Diocese of Sandhurst Leslie Tomlinson said an integrated approach was needed for the school and that the ongoing provision of quality Catholic education in the region was paramount.
The Marist Brothers announced in August last year they would open a stand alone Catholic school, with Catholic College Bendigo’s governors, the Sandhurst Diocese, the Sisters of Mercy and Marist Brothers unanimously recommending to the Bishop’s office the need for a second Catholic secondary college in Bendigo.
The school is forecast to open in 2014.
