Dandenong is on top of the ladder with a 2-0 record, while the Spirit are in third place with a 2-1 record.
Spirit assistant coach Andrea Walsh said the Rangers are one of the teams to beat this season.
“Dandenong is one of the deepest teams in the league,’’ Walsh said.
“Trying to stop each player individually is going to be a big focus. Townsville are obviously going to be hard to beat, but Dandenong is right up there as well.”
The Spirit have a tough schedule to start the season, but Walsh said the club was content with where it sits after two rounds.
“To get one win out of our two games in Queensland was huge for us and then it was great to win our first home game,’’ she said.
“The experience of our core group of players has been really important.
“We’ve got a good mix of inside and outside players and Heather Oliver is playing a bigger role this year.
“At any stage anyone on our side can step up and score double figures in points.”
The Spirit play Dandenong in Melbourne on Friday night before backing up against the Canberra Capitals in Bendigo on Saturday night.
“We hit the road again next week to Perth and Adelaide as well, so it’s important we get some early wins on the board,’’ Walsh said.
