The 11-player squad rounded out its preparation with a practice match at Kangaroo Flat on Tuesday night.
The championships will be contested over two days - Saturday and Sunday - at the Golden City netball courts in West Bendigo.
Hobbs said the team was focused on success at open level, after a couple of near-misses in recent years.
"I have coached the open team the last five years and we've just missed out on the final - we've made semis,” she said.
"Our goal this year is to definitely make that final.
"It will be tough - the competition is so strong and really every game will be tough.
"We don't really know what we are up against - it's not like your own club netball where you can go out and scout people - you don't know what players they have."
North Central will be captained Strathfieldsaye centre Brianna Dalrymple-Monro.
The squad comprises a sound blend of experienced and youthful players from across the region.
With open teams scheduled to play four games each day, Hobbs said she expected the competition to be pretty taxing on players.
“Especially on asphalt – we are usually indoors in Melbourne,” she said
“It’s going to be hot too, so we have a masseuse and recovery things in place so we pull up well.
“It’s about really who pulls up well on the Sunday that will go a long way to determining things.”
Two Bays, which comprises netball associations on the Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs, will start the titles as defending champions.
Strong opposition is also expected from northern suburbs-based Jika and Ballarat.
More than 50 teams, representing 16 regions, will contest the titles across open, 17-and-under, 15-and-under and all-abilities competition.
North Central open squad is: Brianna Dalrymple-Monro, Rebecca Smith (North Bendigo), Ashley Bradley, Zoe Davies, Chelsea Sartori, Rachel Mackenzie (Kangaroo Flat), Jodie Lake (Leitchville-Gunbower), Emily Atkinson (Echuca) Olivia McEvoy (Colbinabbin), Ashley Ryan (Golden Square) and Brooke Bolton (Sandhurst).
