The pair will wear dresses every day in October as part of Frocktober, raising money for ovarian cancer research.
Ms Rayner said she wanted to raise awareness of the disease, which claims the life of one Australian woman every 10 hours.
“Working in a science centre means I am all about supporting science research,” she said.
“If I can look fabulous doing it, then all the better.”
She said the reaction from visitors to Discovery had been fantastic.
“It’s not very practical for work but people have been really positive. People like to see something a bit different,” she said.
Park Run Bendigo’s Luke Morris is also taking part in the fundraiser and will frock up for a five kilometre run this month.
