“Graffiti Vs Art”, directed by Eamon Coulthard, is a behind the scenes look at a mural designed by local youth for the Sk8 Art project.
Coulthard said one of the biggest challenges was the spontaneity of the filming and trying to capture things as they happened.
"It was real life we were filming...You had one go at it,” he said.
“When someone said or did something and you weren’t filming, you couldn’t ask them to do it again because it wasn’t authentic.”
The free event will also show a selection of other short films from local young film makers and feature a silent auction of Sk8 Art inspired art works to raise money for XtremeInc Youth Projects.
This years Battle of the Bands winner Eve Morden will perform at the event, and the film will screen for the first time at the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine from 5pm to 7pm.
