Campaspe offers WWI grants
The Shire of Campaspe has set aside $20,000 in its 2015-16 budget to support community led events or projects commemorating World War I. Mayor Leigh Wilson said the shire was one of many communities across the country to have lost hundreds of citizens during the war. “Council is pleased to make this one-off Great War Community Grants Program available for the Campaspe community to commemorate the courage, sacrifices and service of Australian servicemen and women a century ago,” he said.
