Belvoir Park Estate’s Greg McClure is hoping to see between 1400 ad 1600 people come to the October event after heavy rain forced people home early last year.
Twelve local wine makers and craft beer and cider brewer Prickly Moses will show wines at the event with 10 food vendors also booked in.
“The food vendors are all offer different (types of food) and the wineries will have a lot of different varieties on offer,” Mr McClure said.
“With the beer and cider, it means we have something to offer everyone.”
The Big Hill Food and Wine Festival is now in its fourth year.
McClure said the event has been growing rapidly from day one.
“In the first year we got about what we expected and it doubled in the second year,” he said.
“We had another 200 on top of that last year before the rain started.
“This year we are hoping for that 200 and a few more to return. If we reach 2000 people it will be a sell out.
“With the weather, hopefully the sun is shining on the day and can give a good idea of what we are in for.”
There will also be seven local music acts performing throughout the day.
Music Trio will return after being rained out moments before taking the stage while vocalist Stacy V, acoustic duo DIGG, singer-songwriter Chris Morley, group 3D and renowned cover band The John Grossman Project all playing throughout the day.
A free shuttle bus will run to and from the event all day from 10.15am.
The shuttle bus will pick up and drop off patrons from the Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat railway stations.
“People can also bring a picnic rug or chairs to make themselves more comfortable on the day,” Mr McClure said.
The Big Hill Food and Wine Festival is on Saturday, October 31, from 10.30am to 5.30pm at Belvoir Park Estate, 39 Belvoir Park Road, Big Hill.
Tickets are limited and cost $30 and include a souvenir glass and glass holder. They are available from the Bendigo Tourist Centre in Pall Mall. For more information log on to www.bendigotourism.com
