A group of runners from the family owned and operated business took to Sydney to complete the City to Surf.
Vantage Fuel's involvement with Make-A-Wish Australia began five years ago when staff from their head office in Bendigo competed in the iconic fun run Sydney City to Surf.
They decided to use the event as a platform for raising funds for a charity.
The very rewarding relationship with Make-A-Wish Australia continues to grow through the involvement of the Vantage Fuels Service Station network which now comprises of 28 sites across Victoria and New South Wales.
The group has raised an impressive $115,000 over the last four years and set a very optimistic target for their 2014/15 collection period of $75,000.
The group is proud to announce that not only did they reach their target but they exceeded it with the final collection being $76,325.
This brings the total funds raised by the Vantage Fuels group for Make-A-Wish Australia to $191,000.
The service stations uses many activities in their fund raising efforts including a trivia night, raffles, themed days and selling of lolly bags throughout their network.
They have sold over 13,500 bags this year alone.
The more Vantage Fuels has become involved with Make-A-Wish Australia the more impressed they have become with the amazing efforts the charity does.
Vantage Fuels Chris Richardson said they were very proud to be involved with the deserving charity – not only enriching the lives of seriously-ill children but are also enriching their own lives by being able to help.
The fact that Make-A-Wish receives no government funding also makes Vantage Fuels more determined to continue fundraising for them. Make-A-Wish Australia raises funds to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions in order to enrich their human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Make-A-Wish Australia was founded in 1985 when two Australians heard a speech that changed their lives.
