KYNETON: Kyneton Sergeant Mark Bell confirmed police have attended a property in Ashbourne after a kangaroo was located with an arrow in its head.
Police are on scene with RSPCA administering sedatives to the animal so the arrow can safely be removed.
“The RSPCA are hopeful they will be able to trace who did it by the arrow,” he said.
There will be an investigation into the incident.

CASTLEMAINE: Castlemaine police said the weekend was quiet.
KANGAROO FLAT: A 42-year-old female from Kangaroo Flat intercepted for a routine check in Long Gully on Sunday, August 30 at 10.52pm.
The female was in an unregistered vehicle, she was unlicensed and drink driving with a result of 0.071.
She had priors for unlicensed and as a result the vehicle she was driving was impounded
BENDIGO: A 65-year-old female was intercepted in High Street, Bendigo for a routine intercept at 1.15am on Sunday, August 30.
Female was drink driving and gave a result of 0.135.
Her licence was suspended and cancelled for 13 months.
QUARRY HILL: A 46-year-old male was involved in a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Carpenter and Houston St, Quarry Hill.
He failed to give way and both vehicles had to be towed. No one was injured.
The incident occurred at 2.58am on Sunday, August 30.
Male was drink driving and gave a result of 0.137.
His licence was suspended and cancelled for 13 months.
