The bridge on School Road has been closed since March this year and will be replaced by VEC Civil Engineering.
The contract is worth $229,979.30 and was awarded to the bridge specialists after a tender process.
The design works on the bridge are expected to begin mid-September, with construction set to start in mid-November.
Mount Alexander Shire Council has said signage will be in place during construction works. The council is responsible for maintaining more than 220 bridges.
