Red-hot favourite Collins was a runaway winner in Wednesday night’s Harding Medal, polling 27 votes to finish nine clear of his nearest rivals, Mitiamo’s Dougie Thomas and Newbridge’s Jordan Gilboy.
Collins has won the LVFL trifecta of Harding Medal, El-Vee Award and goalkicking with 56 this year, but it’s the premiership medal to share with his team-mates that’s the silverware he desperately wants.
“I’m rapt we’ve got another opportunity to have a crack in the grand final next week and we’re as hungry as ever to win it,” Collins said.
Collins polled votes in 11 of the Mean Machine’s 16 games, including six best-on-ground performances.
“I’ve had a good consistent season and tried to lead by example,” said Collins, who also played 36 AFL games for Richmond and Carlton.
