Ace the Soundbender performed for students to help launch the La Valla Poetry Slam competition.

As well as mastering beatboxing, Ace has been performing street poetry for nine years.

Student’s packed into the library to hear Ace drop a beat and show off his rapping and vocal skills. The performance is a different, more modern form of poetry that students can become involved with.

It was also part of Book Week with student competitions planned alongside a staff and student dress up day. La Valla’s Poetry Slam will be held next week.
