The Braves led for most of the first three quarters, but were blown away in the final term by the minor premier Pioneers.
After leading by as many as 11 in the first half, the Braves still led 51-43 in the third quarter.
In front of a parochial home crowd the Pioneers outscored the Braves 40-15 for the remainder of the game to win by 17.
The Pioneers’ starting five all scored in double figures, while the Braves shot at just 29 per cent from the field.
Grant Johnson led the Braves with 19 points.
The Braves will host the preliminary final next Saturday night. They play the loser of Saturday night’s semi-final between North West Tasmania and Kilsyth.
