Walsh, the Spirit’s inaugural co-captain, played 134 WNBL games for Bendigo, Melbourne, Bulleen and Townsville and was as assistant coach with the Spirit under former head coach Bernie Harrower.
She also played 393 SEABL games for the Bendigo Lady Braves and is presently assistant coach to Braves coach Ben Harvey.
“I am honoured to be involved with the Bendigo Spirit again this year,” Walsh said.
“To be the Inaugural co-captain of the club and now to be an assistant coach is very special.
“I’m looking forward to being able to work with (coach) Simon Pritchard and all the players. We have a really good mix of experience and youth.
“It’s also a great opportunity to further develop as a coach.”
