The 49-year-old truck driver, of Sunbury, is in a stable condition in hospital.
UPDATE 4.12PM: The man has been airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
UPDATE 3.05PM: The truck driver has now been freed from the vehicle and is being loaded into an ambulance.
UPDATE 2.05PM: The driver of the truck is still trapped with CFA and SES crews on scene.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the truck driver was believed to be a man in his 40s.
EARLIER:
One person has died after a car collided with a cement truck at Woodend.
The driver and sole occupant of the car has died and the driver of the truck is believed to have sustained life threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck is currently trapped in the vehicle and police are on scene.
Police believe the truck was travelling west along Ashbourne Road towards Woodend when it collided with the car at about 12.30pm.
