An action-packed day involved 37 matches across two divisions.
“The event was a great success,” said Bendigo Basketball Association’s key organiser Craig Green.
Players representing Mildura, Dandenong, Hawthorn, Wangaratta and Shepparton showed great skills against the Bendigo Braves blue and gold and Kalianna School.
“The Access All Abilities program is run in Bendigo on a Monday night, but this was the first time in many years a tournament had been put on.”
The Megan Probert-coached Bendigo Braves Blue had a win-loss record of 2-3 in division one.
The Monique Coote-coached Bendigo Braves Gold had a win, draw and three defeats in division two.
Kalianna won its match against Braves Blue by two points.
Green said officials, parents and carers were amazed by the skills on show at the Borough Club-sponsored event.
“Some of the players at this tournament have represented Australia at Special Olympics.”
The Mildura players were special guests at Saturday night SEABL matches featuring the Bendigo Bank Braves and Champions IGA Lady Braves.
Green said Access All Abilities was for players of all ages and skill levels.
Training and a match for Bendigo players is held on Monday between 4pm and 5pm at Bendigo Stadium.
