No only has Morrish played almost every position and in every senior grade for the Eagles, but her impact at the club through almost 20 years has been just as profound off the court as it is on it.
Morrish – affectionately known as “Nanna”” - has been a part of the Eagles since 1997 and on Saturday her loyalty to the club will be recognised when she plays her 200th match for YCW in the Loddon Valley Netball League against Marong at Backhaus Oval.
Among the highlights of Morrish’s career at YCW was being a dominant wing defence in the 2001 A Grade premiership side where she earned a reputation that season as a “ball magnet”.
Off the court, Morrish is a member of the Eagles’ committee, working on grants and fundraising for the club, she has recently taken up umpiring, while she is also a constant source of encouragement and advice for younger team-mates.
“It’s a great club to be involved in. I’ve had time away, but always consider it like coming home when I walk into YCW,” said Morrish, who has two children, Noah and Lila.
“I’ve made lifelong friends and the club gives the opportunity to participate in sport in so many ways, which I love.”
Morrish will notch her 200th game milestone in the C Reserve match against the Panthers at 11.30am.
