A share of the audience fees will go towards the restoration, which is shortly going to require scaffolding the entire inside for the walls to be repainted.

There were four excellent pieces played, notably Haydn’s cello concerto in C major, with soloist Toni Meehan.  

This is a demanding piece which came over very well.

The major orchestral piece was Elgar’s Enigma Variations.  

All music lovers know the variation known as Nimrod, but this was all thirteen of them, played with all due subtlety and sympathy and never a hesitation or slip.  

A professional orchestra could not have done better.  

The BSO  has more than 40 players now and is going from strength to strength.

I cannot agree that Epsom is advantaged.....if it wasn't for the subdividers putting in footpaths, and guttering there would be no progress out there.  

We are finally getting some infrastructure in the area which is a great improvement but once again it is the developers doing the work and not the local council to whom we pay our rates to.

In the fifteen years that we have lived there the dirt gutters that front our property been cleaned three times and a footpath placed on the opposite side of the road......such a lot of value from 15 years of paying rates to our Bendigo Centralised Council.

Waste of time to talk to your local councillor, they do not reply.

Recently returned from visiting family in NSW and discussion arose while there re electricity prices between NSW and VIC.

NSW electricity prices have just been reduced from July 1 but as we all know in VIC they just keep going up and up and up.

I noted the new daily supply charge in NSW down from 0.82c a day to 0.72c a day, here in VIC my daily supply charge $1.29c a day – a huge difference. 

Earlier this year when I noticed new rates on my power bill I wrote to my retailer asking for a detailed copy of new rates as we used to get but only received a phone call stating they (retailer) do not have to send out details of increases as the increase is on the bill.

The increase is on the bill but you have to go over the bill with a fine tooth comb.

I find it hard to believe that a detailed information sheet cannot be sent out explaining in detail the increases.

Victorians are being ripped off continuously not only with electricity but all public utilities – where and when will it end?

What's going on. Pluto economics. Better economic managers. You can't be serious. Joe Hockey is talking about tax cuts at the next election.

But the Budget deficit stands at $41.1 billion dollars, and our debt has been doubled since they have been in control.

Can you just imagine the ridicule from Hockey and Abbott if this had been suggested previously. 

Then Federal Speaker travels from Queensland. Takes $5500 helicopter ride to Geelong. As a comparison the average wage per week, just under 20% of whirly ride.

New Start recipients weekly amount 4% ,and pensioner 7.5% of whirly ride. Average home price between 70--100 whirly rides.

How can anybody in their right mind take any of these people seriously. As far as the GST is concerned, the common theory is that there has to be agreement between the States and Territories, as well as agreement by the political party's to increase this tax.
