The Royals inflicted the Saints’ third loss of the season with the 14.11 (95) to 5.10 (40) victory
Donald had lost its previous 10 games against the Saints by an average of 55 points, but more importantly, the victory moved the Royals two games clear inside the top five.
The normally free-scoring Saints were held to just one goal in the first half by the Royals, whose best included Brody Haddow, Daniel Pearce and Nicholas Garner. Seamus Young kicked four goals.

• Wycheproof-Narraport inflicted Wedderburn’s biggest loss for five years, crushing the former power by 96 points.
The Demons prevailed 17.13 (115) to 2.7 (19) in what was the biggest hiding the Redbacks copped since they lost to Boort by 118 points in round 18, 2010.
Andrew Mead-Harding kicked five goals for the Demons to be one of their best, along with Chris Howgate, Rolly White and Joseph Coatsworth.
Robert Tonkin and ruckman Brett Strange battled hard for the Redbacks, who kicked one goal in the first quarter and one in the last.
• Charlton handed Boort its seventh loss by more than 100 points, winning 21.14 (140) to 5.8 (38).
Boort competed well in the first half to only be 24 points down at the break, before the floodgates opened.
James McGrath bagged five goals for Charlton, whose best was coach Aaron Walklate. Aaron Wilson was named best for Boort.
