The six-year-old from Maiden Gully was diagnosed with leukaemia last month and has started to undergo chemotherapy in the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
The toughness of the Maiden Gully Primary School student even impressed some of the Tigers’ own tough men this week.
Defender Steven Morris kicked the footy with Rylan on Thursday, and his favourite player Jack Riewoldt gave him a very special phone call.
The visits came after a huge fundraising effort from friends, family and strangers to support the Moyle family as they prepare for the months ahead.
They raised $10,000 in 10 days, with more to come.
Fundraiser organiser Rhianna Hall said there would be hard days ahead for the family, but the support had been fantastic.
“It was about $1000 a day coming in, which was great,” she said.
“It’s going to be hard times ahead, so hopefully some of the money can be for something fun for Rylan and his parents.
“There have been very kind donations from a lot of people, even people we don’t know.”
Rylan’s battle started just over a month ago when his mother Chloe Campbell found a lump on his neck.
When a series of blood tests uncovered an abnormality in his blood count, he was rushed to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
On his sixth birthday earlier this month he was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukaemia.
He started chemotherapy the next day.
Ms Hall said the family would stay by his side throughout the battle in the months to come.
Organisers of the fundraiser plan to hold a number of events to support the family.
