Frosts with temperatures down to -2 degrees are forecast for parts of the Northern Country and North Central forecast districts, of which Bendigo is included.
Please be aware temperatures at ground level can be many degrees lower than those recorded by standard weather stations, especially in calm conditions with very clear skies, the bureau advises.
At 7am Bendigo was sitting on just 1 degree.
Bendigo is headed for a top of 12 degrees today, Echuca 14, Maryborough 12, Kyneton 10, Redesdale 12 and Castlemaine 11.
Severe frosts with temperatures down to -3 degrees are also forecast for parts of the North East forecast district.
