David Lyall was in a nearby cafe when the crash happened and came to the rescue of a 12-year-old child who was a passenger in the black Mercedes when it smashed into a row of parked cars.
“We were just having coffee when we heard a loud bang and came outside and jumped into action,” he said.
“The door was bent in and he was covered in glass, he was crying but alright.”
Mr Lyall said the driver had appeared to have had a seizure.
“When he came to he was quite agitated and the police had to pepper spray him to subdue him,” he said.
Police were directing traffic along View Street for a short time.
