Harrower and her husband, Aaron Willoughby, welcomed son Cooper John into the world on Friday.
Weighing a healthy 8.14 pounds, Cooper was born at Melbourne's Frances Perry House.
A delighted father and grandfather, Bernie Harrower said all was well with Kristi and Cooper.
"They are both healthy and doing well and Cooper is a little cutie, so it has been a fantastic couple of days," Bernie said on Sunday.
Kristi announced her retirement from basketball at an emotional press conference in January when she was then 16 weeks pregnant.
She will go down in history as one of Bendigo's greatest athletes, carving out a basketball career that among the highlights were three Olympic silver medals, an Olympic bronze, world championship gold medal at senior and junior level and two WNBL championships with the Bendigo Spirit.
She is also a dual winner of Bendigo's Sports Star of the Year (1994 and 2005), and Sports Star Hall of Fame inductee.
