Stay Social is the brainchild of social entrepreneurs Chris and Karen Corr. The concept is aimed at people who want to connect with the city's business and arts scene while travelling for work or holidays.
"My husband and I were looking at something to invest in. The new Bendigo Hospital has created a need for more accommodation, especially for workers," Mrs Corr said.
"We thought, what can we create that is that little bit more social than a motel room. We are socially-minded and environmentally-conscious people and this is what we came up with.
The accommodation features seven rooms, with local artworks and up-cycled furniture featuring throughout.
Guests are given their own rooms but have access to shared facilities, which include a sun room and outdoor entertaining space. Guests also have access to free bike use.
Mrs Corr said Stay Social had partnered with Pop Up Art - an initiative which supports artists wanting to sell their work. She said artworks at Stay Social were all for sale.
"We love Bendigo and are committed to building the vibrancy of the town," she said.
City of Greater Bendigo city futures director Stan Liacos praised the couple on their newest venture.
"This is a great facility that further diversifies Bendigo’s accommodation options," Mr Liacos.
"The central location means visitors can explore the city with ease and singles, couples or families are easily catered for up to a total of 12 guests.
"Bendigo's reputation as a must-visit destination continues to grow from strength to strength. Stay Social is an example of thinking outside the square and offering visitors to the region a different experience."
Stay Social will be open to the public on Saturday from 2pm to 3.30pm. All are welcome to look inside.
