The tours were part of the Celebrate Vahland month hosted by the City of Greater Bendigo.
It was a chance for people to not only learn about Bendigo's famed architect but also see some of his creations first hand.
"We had (the walks) during the month of May to show some of Vahland’s buildings," Mr Evans said.
"It's hard to show them all because there are over 200 of them all together and they are formidable buildings."
Some of Vahland's most famous Bendigo buildings include the Bendigo Town Hall, The Capital theatre (which was originally a Masonic Lodge) and the Colonial and National banks in Pall Mall.
"Those are very good examples of his ornate style and how he used classical form in most of his buildings," Mr Evans said.
"Like everyone he tried to make his fortune from gold but found his training in architecture was a better proposition. His work was a terrific contribution to Bendigo.
Mr Evans said the Celebrate Vahland month meant people were able to find out more about the man.
" Some people knew about him but probably weren't sure what buildings he designed and didn’t know about his great output."
