It seems that everyone is wading into this argument and I agree that we all have a right to voice our opinion, but wait and see if the opponents of this concept you encourage have the same freedom if and when Parliament is foolish enough to change the Marriage Act.
Ireland did, but does that make it necessary for us to follow suit?
I am very disappointed that you haven’t done any research into the effects on society where this has already been brought into law, e.g. some states in the US, some European nations, for a long while.
One thing that does happen is the discrimination of those who refuse to go along with it, e.g. marriage celebrants, cake makers, florists, etc
They have been sued for discrimination even though it is against their moral conscience or religion to support it.
Marriage is between a man and a woman.
